You Can Change Your Mind
July 28, 2026
Our resistance and anger many times keep us stuck in “what we know to be true”. They say that one of the toughest challenges is to convince someone to change their mind once they know they are right. Sound familiar??
Politically or sitting around a family dinner, opinions can become like a blocked highway. You know “they” are wrong and yet they will not listen. I want to know how you know they are wrong? Is it research, opinion, judgment or just a plain “I am right” attitude?
Once we get stuck in “our way”, it can be hard to listen to anyone else. We feel emotional, passionate, invested in our opinions and experiences begs the question, why would we change our mind, our way of thinking, our righteous indignation over “their” outrageous stance on ____________ (fill in the blank).
May I suggest visiting our NMA listening test to see if you are even listening. No blame. No “you” should. Just a suggestion that revisiting a key leadership communication tool might be a good thing. www.NatalieManor.com/listening-test/
