What kind of confidence are you inspiring in yourself and others?

September 25, 2025

Goodness gracious, what is the deal with passing on compliments to others that are doing a good job? What, you don’t want them to get too big of a head? For doing a good job, on time, on budget and with a PP that dazzles?

Compliment people. Write a note of thanks. Share a cookie at lunch time. Tell the team that someone is doing a good job. Confidence usually comes from being recognized and told about the thing that is being recognized. Great leaders, team leaders, executive assistants, teenagers, partners, T-ball players all do good stuff when someone tells them “hey you, nice job” in a loud voice and other than at performance review time. My 7 year old grand girl stopped a ball during a softball game at shortstop and actually tossed it to second base for the out. This gramma was standing in the bleachers screaming compliments.

Take a little moment to consider how you feel (how confidence flows into your “self”) when someone, including you for you, tells you “you did a good job kiddo”.
