Learning New Skills

June 25, 2026

All of my leadership clients learn the value of keeping notes/details from meetings and then doing a quick overview report of what those details are.

The value: reviewing the details keeps you honest; boosts your memory of what was valued in the communication; allows you to relax in the “remembering” part; provides a permanent record and takes most of the stress away from what really happened during the communication. Oh, and you can share the details.

When each of my new clients comes on, we do an in-person VIP 1.5 days together. From the VIP we gather our notes and make sure that they are formalized for the notebook I provided them. Why? Because it is a lot of information and going back and being able to review the time together is an instant recollection of anything they wanted to use as a next step in supporting their skill sets and what is important as next steps in growing their skill sets.
