Great leaders have pretty much the same table of contents for what and how they lead. Peter Drucker’s book “The Effective Executive” was written over 25 years ago. It is still in the top 5 books list I recommend to my clients. Drucker’s language may have been written in male pronouns, the leadership dynamic and impact has not changed.

Communicate well. Have everyone understand the sales strategy. Create trust and respect as the cornerstone of your legacy. Demonstrate consistency, frequency and focus as the tenants of great leadership. Yes, there are many other content comments you can add, but leading is not new or unknown.

What is the question about leadership then: “How you doing?” What is your commitment to communicating well; with whom; mentoring; guiding; consistently and with the impact of trust and respect. So how is that going for you? Maybe a planned sit down with yourself and a notebook…could also be revisiting the leadership book or mentor to review the value of what you learned that helped you lead well.
