Kindness – for yourself and others!
October 3, 2025
Most of the time when I take this one road to meetings and softball for the grands, it is 2 lanes merging into one lane. So the people who are at the stoplight in the right lane, need to merge left after the light turns green. There is lots of room on the right side to speed up and try to make it to the head of the lane before it disappears.
On my very kind days, I easily let people from the right merge into my lane. We are all going the same way, the road ahead is a single lane of bumper-to-bumper people trying to get to where they need to go.
After I let someone into the continuing lane, I feel good. I usually think that I’ve paid it forward in case I ever need to be let in. Then the right lane fast car, going too fast to the head of the merge, not merging (like I think they should), and my thoughts go to some not nice thinking. I call it occasional kindness. I think the world is infected, big time, with very little kindness. How about you?
