All of us came from somewhere. A family that maybe we adore or maybe not. But have you thought about your Family Of Choice? Those people you adore, need, respect, work with, worship with, a neighbor, a friend.

FOC can be someone you met in high school and still stay in touch with these many years later. Or they can be that amazing neighbor that you more than wave to and share driveway conversations that are meaningful and helpful. A person or group that creates safe feelings, a small community of people you just like and want to spend time with.

Family can be whatever you want. I have a friend I met in high school when I was 14 in Ankara, Turkey that has been my BFF all these years. My sister of choice. A confidant. She is a treasure and my FOC forever. I bet you have someone like that too in your life. Aren’t we the lucky ones to have these kind of people in our lives?
