Control vs Reactions

March 10, 2026

How many times a day have you had to just breathe in hard and not punch the air with your reactions? If you are spending lots of time actually frequently reacting to your world, you might want to take a chair in the corner and breathe.

Controlling our reactions is part of growing up. We are not in control of others. It is hard enough to not be able to control our own, over the top, reactions.

When our cortisol levels are high and we get a toxic dose, it is hard to calm down and not assume a righteous stance. What is it really that has us all bound up and spewing almost venom like responses? Sometimes self imposed time outs are really the best and most effective ways to bring us back to center and realistically handle the issues we have attracted and are reacting to.
