Change the energy, change the attitude.

October 2, 2026

I am a gramma sitting in the stands watching 8 year old girls play softball. The first inning everything was going well and the score was 7 to 5. The end of the game was 18 to 9. We lost, but we lost not because of talent, but we lost because the little girls gave up.

You could see it when they took the field. No yelling. No “softball ready”. No encouraging each other. Then the stands got restless and we grammas clinched our fists and wiggled too much. The coaches were sinking with the escaping energy.

It is tough to be bright, talented, in the game and excited when the air of the time/moment has left. How are you today? Are you good? Are you in the game? Are you judging whether it is all worth it? Well the lessons are tough, but the outcomes are up to you. Stay in the game – it will feel good and you will learn where the holes are and what needs to be done next.
