Am I Speaking Honestly With Myself??

September 30, 2026

I did a data search on how many “thoughts” we have a day and the answer varied wildly so I chose one of the numbers = 90,000 thoughts per day. And apparently most of the thoughts we have are negative. “I am never going to get that report done on time; groceries, fill the gas tank and make dinner – never a moment for me; my MIL never says anything nice; that new intern is a stupid thing; I never get to sleep enough; why does church have to start so early; when are the kids going to just be quiet?”

But Natalie, all of that is true. And my response, of course it is. It is what you are thinking. Thinking makes it so and your opinion and reaction is negative…most of the time.

What happened to: “nice job kiddo; I did it, I lost 2 whole pounds; that new guy is really funny; remember self, 10pm and in bed; I forgot about this suit jacket and it looks good on me; my MIL called and she invited us for dinner; can’t wait to get to church with all the new music; I am so glad my alarm works!!” Choose your own words. Be nice to yourself. Consistently nice. Louise Hay says the “longest and most intimate relationship is with you, how is that going?” Well??
