Staying Well Is Easier Than Trying To Get Well Again

The last several weeks there have been many media reports of increases in covid, pneumonia, breathing issues, heart and blood pressure shifting negatively. The rules for being well have not changed. Sleep, nutrition, reduced stress and positive head chatter.

In spending time with remarkable people like you, there has been a significant increase in negative self talk. People have noticed that their conversations in their heads are all pretty negative and critical. May I remind you that the outside world is negative enough. You don’t need to add to it and be highly critical of yourself.

The first time babies wobble to stand up and walk – and are not successful – no one tells the baby to give up “because you are never going to get this walking thing right”. What we say, in a loving and enthusiastic voice is…”come on, you can do it, look at you trying, so exciting, you can do it lovie”. Maybe you could treat yourself a bit like a little one and talk the talk to you – “You got this…I love you anyway…Come one, we are going to win this one…You look soooo good”. Find a mirror and practice. It works.
