A Classy, Powerful, Influential Shy Gal

Rosalynn Carter is dead at 96. Former first lady and wife of the 39th President, Jimmy Carter, has died following a battle with dementia. Rosalynn was the first champion of mental health when it was not ok or politically correct to even mention issues surrounding mental health.

As a advocate for 75+ years, Rosalynn showed up to every conference to support better mental health and created, with the medical community, the initial and powerful conversations that resonate even today.

Rosalynn was shy to the public and to the cameras, but that did not stop her participation. She and Jimmy Carter, her husband of 77 years, held hands, kissed in public and spoke lovingly about each other at every opportunity. She was a beacon for all of us that needed a mentor to inspire us to keep going even when it was hard. I will miss this lovely lady and her POWERFUL influence in our history.

Here’s a  link to learn more about her and how a gentle giant took such good care of us…
