Communication’s Most Important Characteristics – Clarity and Listening

So many meetings end with “what did he/she/they mean?” Instead of making clear the message being shared, we hurry to get to the next meeting. Clarity takes care, a consistent message; a timeframe for when something is due (accountability) and the courtesy to ask the person(s) if X, Y, Z is clear..

As my dear friend Mary Warzecha would say, “listening is NOT waiting to speak”. Listening is being present, asking questions, not interrupting, body language that shows we are present and helping the other(s) be clear with their message.

NMA has a listening test that thousands have taken to find out how well they are listening and are they effectively listening. Try it and get clear with how you are listening…or not. www.NatalieManor.com/listening-test/ .
