A handwritten note, through the mail and a forever stamp.

A handwritten note, through the mail and a forever stamp.

Handwritten notes seem to be a thing of the past. Don’t let them be. Write a handwritten note to someone who you care about and put it in the mail. You will hear from them and I guarantee they will save your note for a long time.

When we get our mail, we sort through and toss those impersonal pieces. However, if you get a hand addressed piece of mail with a stamp, you put the other mail aside and immediately open the envelope. Why? Because it feels good and you are curious. Once you open it, you keep the handwritten note with you for the rest of the day and re-read it several times. It is a sweet thing. A friendly thing. A nice thing. We ALL need sweet, friendly, nice things now.

Handwritten notes are also thrilling because they are unexpected. The last one I received, I actually called the person to thank them. The note was terrific, but it also arrived on a day when I needed to hear that my coaching helped shift them into a very confident and successful place. Even “us/we” coaches need reassurance and feedback. Go write that note to the person who is waiting to hear from you, but does not even know that.
