On screen – we can see you.

On screen – we can see you.

I so want to help all of you that seem to be having trouble presenting yourself easily and powerfully during your screen time. First of all, learn the technology before you get on with a group. All of us have someone who can show us the basics. You do not want to get on the screen with experienced people and look like you do not know anything about the technology. People will wonder and be ever so “judgy” of you showing up as a complete novice.

Remember also, no huge cups of anything; no eating; no sliding around in your chair; do not fuss with your hair; have paper and pen ready to take notes; make sure your background is professional; dress well and do comb your hair. WE CAN SEE YOU. We also do not need to have your cat visit during the meeting.

Does this sound like things that people should know before screen time? You would think so. But each one of you reading this knows at least one of these people who do not realize we can see them (and everything around them) or apparently don’t care. They really ought to care…we make up all kinds of stories about who they are when they don’t meet our standards of how they should be presenting themselves on screen.
