Who have you stopped communicating with and is your reason still a good one?
Mad, sad, angry, annoyed, put off, embarrassed, overwhelmed…just some reasons to NOT communicate with someone else. If this just happened yesterday, you probably still have some good reasons for not communicating. But if you decided in the past to not communicate, is your reason still valid? Is it still important? Is it still the same reason?
Thinking people who have been offended by someone – and then not handled it, but judged the situation – usually continue to add to the story of what happened. The story can get really convoluted, especially if you do not take the initiative to take care of the break in communication. Adding to the story usually just makes you more right and them more wrong.
If you continually think about the situation, you need to take care of it. Don’t add to the angst of it, but decide if the story you are telling really deserves all the energy you are giving it.
