What do you do when your habit is to avoid difficult conversations?

The solution to helping you have difficult conversations is to take a good look at why they are hard to have. Is it you? Is it them? Over the many years that I have had my business, our “most popular” keynote, webinar, virtual VIP is “Having Difficult Conversation and Creating Successful Outcomes”. So let me share some tips with you:

  • Know the outcome you want from the conversation so you do not get off track – it will also keep you from becoming angry
  • Do not take forever to have the conversation – now is better than 2 weeks, a month, 6 months – the story just gets bigger
  • Find out from you why this is difficult for you – is it a boss, best friend, client, prospect
  • You will feel such terrific relief when you handle the issue that you deserve to get it done
  • Will the difficult conversation create improved performance; better communication; ease in the relationship – then get to it
