What happens when you choose to take a mental break from all of the negative input?
When my clients first learn to choose a mental health moment, it is hard for them to let go momentarily of the whooshing of their mind. They have a difficult time allowing themselves to take the break and they have a hard time thinking they need a break.
Stress is not your friend unless you need to use your adrenal glands to get you out of a tough situation. Producing cortisol, the fight or flight chemical naturally coming to your defense, is not a chemical you want to be producing itself all day long. It wears us out. It dumps itself into parts of our body and circulatory system that does not need it.
When we take a momentary mental break, we stop the cortisol production. When we breath deeply while taking a mental break, we reassure our physical and mental self that we are OK. Put this practice into your day. You will like the results. You deserve the positive results..
