What is your primary way of easily dealing with Stress?
Try this…You cannot live without breathing. You can live for 3 days without water and about 13-20 days without food. But you cannot live without breathing and most of us are not using our own breath to easily help with relieving our immediate and unrelenting stressors.
There are many ways to practice your breathing, but the simplest is to breathe 3 times in a row, slowly and fill up your lungs each time and then blow out the old breath. If you get dizzy, then sit and do this. We can experience significant lung capacity loss as we age just because we do not fill up our lungs with some ever so needed air. The lungs get sticky and then begin to shrink, just from not breathing well and deeply.
I ask my clients (family, friends) to use their devices and set alarms to remind them to breathe. Try 10 am and 2 pm with an alarm for breathing. I do know, without a doubt, that you will notice how well you are NOT using your lungs – which are your best friends.
It is easy to take a breath. Do it for you and your stress and your terrific body that will fully welcome this new habit.
