How to figure out how to regain control in uncontrolled times.
Fear is about control. Most of our lives it has been pretty clear we can do what we want when we want and where we want. I would suggest to you that right now feels less about control and more about worry and fear.
Take control of what you can and breathe into the rest. I would also suggest that you be grateful for what you are and have right now so you can be less fearful and breathe. You can grumble back to me, but gratitude – the feeling of saying thank you for what you have – is like the best icing on the best cake. Try it.
Thank you for: my breath; my car starting; the ease of making a pot of coffee; my puppy (or kitty); watching the rain; lighting the good candles just cause you can; pouring Epsom sales into the bath; drying the clothes in the sun; sweeping out the garage; finding the “thing” you lost while cleaning; looking at picture albums; connecting with your team in a deeper way; learning new technology while figuring out the world; buying seeds for the garden (whether on a balcony or back yard); looking deeply at your children; helping a neighbor; meeting a neighbor and easy levels of prayer.
