What is the difference in attitude between Monday work and Friday work?

My business manager and I often say “it sure is Monday today”. When I realized we were speaking this way, I wondered what the difference is between Monday work and Friday work. Monday seems less fun; more serious; more controlled by others to get it done; often not based on what we want to do, but what must get done. Monday work is deadline oriented and commitment-oriented. So why are we picking on Monday?

Friday works seems more fun and easier to get done. It is more free; can be prepping for something; discussing next steps; getting ready for something fun; less serious and more congratulatory.

Not sure how Monday got the negative and Friday got the positive or more fun vibe. I think it has something to do with the weekend, of course. I am going to treat Monday more like an opportunity rather than an obligation. We got so much done today, Monday, and it was progressive; proud work; easy to share work; accurate and “feel great getting it done” work. I like deadlines – we are the ones who decide whether our deadlines are an opportunity or a glum effort. I am now a YAY Monday person…going to see how that works.

May we help?
