How is it that some people provide magical, effective and timely communication?
Fast communication habits are not necessarily effective. Texting is a superior way to communicate until it is not. Relying on texting as the only form of communication does not always allow for tone; need; emphasis; importance; crisis; congratulations.
The many ways of communicating still exist because they work. Fast is great, but many times just not effectively thorough. A hand written note is like gold to the receiver. A first class stamped hand written envelope will be opened immediately. An easily readable email with white space and bullet points is prized for inspiring responsiveness. Spreadsheets with context setting intros are read. Reports with graphics; short paragraphs and intro context setting information are considered “well written and trusted” by the reader.
Communicate in a way that provides the best information in a timely way, every time. If you cannot be timely, let people know. Everyone will appreciate being clued in on “when” the information will arrive. Oh, and picking up the phone for a call to communicate important information, also still works very well.
May we help?
