If all your conversations and questions are sounding like the game “Truth or Dare”, your stress level is dangerously high.

If all your conversations and questions are sounding like the game “Truth or Dare”, your stress level is dangerously high.
Many of the conversations we are about to have are fraught with stories we have made up. “What will they think?” “This is not going to work.” Why is this person always on my case?” Too many of us cannot listen or even compose our thoughts to have a conversation because we are so preoccupied with the “what ifs”. Everyone should be taking the listening test a couple of times a year to remind them exactly how and when you are listening and when you are not listening or can’t listen. Deeply breathing before the conversation and knowing the outcome you want shifts the “what ifs” to listening and participation.
You cannot (and will not) listen if you are so highly stressed you cannot hear (see and perceive) what is taking place. Once you have decided that the communication you will have will be a losing situation, listening does not happen at all. Don’t miss your opportunities to be brilliant, calm, articulate and accurate.
Shift and change and gain. Take the Listening Test.
