Oh my goodness, every year I write a “NO Stress Holiday Tips” article – in fact, this is the 19th year of writing and sending it out to people just like you, who are surprised the holidays are here already.
The time of year for the holidays have not changed – except Thanksgiving messes with us sometimes, but Christmas, Hanukkah and Kwanzaa arrives, and we are totally not ready.
Do you know there are 27 major holidays globally from October 1st through the end of the year, every year??
Go ahead and ask people about their expectations for the holidays and here are some pretty typical responses and reactions:

  • Huge rolling of the eyes
  • Again, they are here again?
  • And where am I supposed to get the money/
  • I hate the holidays
  • Wasn’t it just August?

Very few people seem to be holiday lovers this year.  My former Office Manager, who shopped all year, was done with her gift buying and planning by the end of September.  She spent wisely; followed the sales; asked people what they wanted; followed the toy trends for the kids; bought wrapping paper the day after the last holiday when the stores basically give it away.  In other words, she was smart about her holiday planning… and just plain annoying.
So I tried her method one year of keeping a list and getting it all done without any the hassle of the holiday “last minute” oh no feelings.  I need to tell you that this method was NOT successful for me because my family got 3Xs the number of presents because I did not remember what I had purchased through the year and many times could not find where I had hidden the presents.  (now that created some stress)
My tips, techniques and strategies for a “NO Stress Holiday” come from experience and listening to people like you over the past many years.  See the P.S. for the link to the 2018 “NO Stress Holiday Tips”.
